Hotel de l'Empereur is probably the oldest hotel in Valkenburg. In the 15th century it was known by the name "Den Rooden Leeuw". On one of his many journeys emperor Napoleon honoured our hotel with a visit. End 19th century the name was therefore altered to Hotel de l'Empereur: Emperor Hotel.

Since 1934 Hotel de l'Empereur is owned by the Pappers family. Through the years they kept the hotel up with the times. Comfortability and personal care are the characteristics of our 3-star hotel. We strive for creating a homelike athmosphere for our guests.
There are 33 comfortable rooms spread over 2 floors (we have no elevator). There's a selection of rooms with shower, bath or whirlpool. Some rooms are equiped with a minibar. All rooms have a TV and telephone. Directly behind the hotel is a parking-place which will be locked at night.
Grand Cafe "Joli Coeur" and Restaurant "La Mangerie" are part of the hotel. During the day you can enjoy your lunch, a good cup of coffee with pastry or a refreshing beer at the stylish furnished "Joli Coeur" .
